Commando Inn
Local Policy
Space-Available Policy. Space-available (Priority 2) guests may have reservations confirmed no more than 3 days prior to arrival, and may obtain a confirmed reservation for up to 3 nights, provided space is available at time of confirmation. The option to extend the 3-day window for advance space-a reservations will only apply when anticipated occupancy allows, and will most likely apply only during holidays and other times that on-base occupancy is expected to due to a decrease in TDY or PCS traffic. Priority 1 (TDY and PCS travelers) will not "bump" space-available guests with a confirmed reservation, however, Priority 1 guests may be returned to on-base quarters when they become available. Space-available reservations may be taken in advance (much like any other reservation), but the following rules apply when taking advance space-available reservations:
Guests are informed that the reservation cannot be confirmed more than 3 days prior to arrival, and that rooms may not be available for the desired date(s). We recommend that guests have alternate plans for lodging, as chances are good, especially during the summer, that rooms may not be available.
Individuals requesting reservations on a space-available basis must provide a valid credit card at time of check-in. Payment for room charges used on a space-available basis are due at check-in for the full term of stay.
Length of Stay (PCS In): 30 Days
Length of Stay (PCS Out): 7 Days
Guarantee of Payment. Room charges for VAQ/VOQ and TLF guests are payable every fifteen days and upon checkout. For long-term guests, statements of charges due will be provided at each 15-day period, with receipts issued each time room charges are paid. Final receipts will be generated by our customer service representatives at the front desk, located in Building 90509, on the day you leave, and upon return of all room keys.
Payments may be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Payment for room, phone, and sundry charges may be made by cash, credit card (VISA or MasterCard), or traveler's check.
Lodging guests must provide a valid credit card (VISA or MasterCard) at time of check-in, or pay in advance at check-in with cash or check. Those guests providing a valid credit card may elect to have their card charged at check-in or wait until checkout to have their lodging charges billed to their credit card. When the guest prefers to have their card charged at checkout, lodging will process a pre-approval for lodging fees and any potential sundry and/or phone charges (not to exceed $50.00).
For guests who do not provide a valid credit card at check-in, payment of room charges in advance is required; an additional deposit (not to exceed $50.00) may be required to cover potential sundry and/or phone charges. For active duty and retired Air Force personnel, we may request that the guest fill out an authorization to process a DD Form 139 to process a pay action for any due charges.
Age Limitations in Lodging Quarters. Active duty personnel over the age of 18 may utilize quarters on a space-available basis, but are reminded that quarters are stocked with alcoholic beverages, and that it is the responsibility of the guest to refrain from using these items, as the legal age of consumption in the state of Florida is 21. Guests may also opt to have alcoholic beverages removed from the room during their stay by contacting the front desk. Spouses, children, and friends of active duty or retired personnel may use quarters on a space-available basis if they are over 21 years of age, or are accompanied by, and will reside with the sponsor during their stay. All lodging quarters, with the exception of TLF's, are designated as aircrew quarters; children under the age of 12 are not permitted to stay in these quarters. This policy was instituted to ensure proper crew rest, a positive study atmosphere for students attending courses, and to keep disruptions to other guests to a minimum.
Accommodating Family Members of TDY Personnel. As we are in Florida, it is a common occurrence for members in a TDY status to bring family members along with them. Though we would like to accommodate all family members that travel with a sponsor that is TDY, the number of TLF's available limits us, and our TDY clientele prevents us from using our single-occupancy rooms for some family members. Spouses may accompany TDY members, so long as the room type assigned has a private bathroom - - we cannot house members of the opposite sex in shared bathrooms (per Air Force Lodging policy). Children over the age of 12 may accompany TDY members (same private/shared bathroom rules apply), but must stay in the same room as the member. TLF's may be used to accompany family members on a space-available basis, but only for up to 3 days at a time, provided space is available. We cannot justify not providing TLF's for Priority 1 members (PCS in/out) to accommodate a TDY member with a family. Local commercial/contract quarters cannot be authorized for TDY members that have confirmed on-base quarters and choose to bring family members with them. If the member is confirmed in local commercial/contract quarters, the negotiated rate is for a single-occupancy room; any charges for additional guests are the responsibility of the member.
Air Force Inns "No Smoking" Policy. In accordance with DoD and Air Force policies, and to ensure the health and safety of our guests, all Commando Inn rooms are designated as "Non-Smoking."
